Tax Deductible Donations

Give until it feels good — and get a tax break.

Through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC), individuals and businesses can redirect state tax dollars to Educational Improvement Organizations like NAEF.

How it works

How the EITC program works

Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit lets individuals and businesses redirect the state taxes they already owe to approved Educational Improvement Organizations like NAEF — turning a tax bill into local student impact. Here’s the path from start to finish:

  • Check eligibility

Any Pennsylvania business or individual with a state tax liability can take part in the program.

  • Choose your gift

Decide how much you’d like to direct to NAEF, an approved Educational Improvement Organization.

  • Apply & contribute

Our partners at Friends of Education handle the EITC application and paperwork for you, start to finish.

  • Claim your credit

Receive a credit of 75–90% of your contribution against your PA state taxes — up to $750,000 per year.

A one-year commitment typically earns a 75% credit, while a two-year commitment earns 90%. Your Friends of Education contact can confirm the details and current limits for your situation.

Why it’s a win-win

What the EITC program means for you

Participating in the EITC program can be a win-win situation for your business and for our community. Here’s how:

Tax Benefits

By contributing to approved educational improvement organizations through the EITC program, your business can receive tax credits ranging from 75% to 90% of the amount contributed up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year. This presents a significant opportunity to reduce your state tax liability while supporting educational improvement organizations.

Community Impact

Your contributions through the EITC program directly support enriching educational programs and opportunities for students in the Norristown Area community.

Positive Public Image

By participating in the EITC program, your business demonstrates a commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. This can enhance your reputation among customers, employees, and stakeholders, ultimately leading to increased brand loyalty and trust.
